Anyone who has a child knows that parents only want whats best for them. True, we may not always be able to give them exactly what they want or what they need. We may oftentimes even do the exact opposite of what is actually beneficial to them and just realize it later on. But are we to be blamed for this? Doesnt everyone just try to do what he or she believes is best for the child in every situation and hope it would turn out well? I think it is bordering on hypocrisy to keep on trying to blame the Travoltas. If they did something wrong, Im sure they are already suffering. If they didnt, then making the issue bigger would make them suffer even more.

I'm very sorry for the family. However, Jett is a minor who obviously has difficulty making major decisions on his own. Thus, all legal responsibilities lie on the parents to make sure that he is cared for properly. Scientology is a religion. According to believers, it is based on a process of reasoning. The Travoltas blame Kawasaki syndrome and environmental toxin as the ailment of their child. Jett did have Kawasaki syndrome but it should be non-recurring. Shouldn't that have been reason enough to look for further diagnosis? Had they undergone further consultations, it could have shown otherwise and been treated more appropriately.

Well, if you take your son to a doctor and he dies because of wrong diagnosis or medication, is it your fault? I dont think so. In the same way, I think the Travoltas are not at fault. They are just a victim of their own religion, and Im sorry to say that there are no absolutes in this. Their creed states that the spirit alone may save or heal the body, and they believed it. Just like I believe that my headache will go away when I take an aspirin. It works for me most of the time, but maybe not for others. Apparently for them it did not work this time.
