I have heard many people talk about drop bears on the web and in newspapers. Are drop bears real?

Drop bears could be in existence up to this day, even though most people will simply view the stories of drop bears as nothing but mythical tales. Why would some people come forward and share stories of being attacked from treetops, if drop bears were not real? There are even photos of people who claim that they have been attacked by these ferocious drop bears.

I think that drop bears could be possibly real. Although they are generally believed to be mythical creatures, the stories of drop bears have been around for a long time already. In fact there are now several sub-species of these drop bears, which include the common drop bear, burrowing drop bear, Alpine drop bear, and even the aquatic drop bear. The reason the tale of drop bears is not taken seriously is that people fear that tourists will stop visiting Australia. Drop bears are known to attack outsiders rather than the locals. For me, there is a big possibility that drop bears are real.

I think that drop bears are just the product of an overworked imagination. The drop bears of Australia are folklore creatures known to look like overgrown koalas. Therefore, this means that they are not real. Although some people claim that drop bears attack humans especially at night, no one has actually survived to show any evidence of these creatures' existence, such as photographs or any clear description. Perhaps, the existence of drop bears has been confused with the ancient marsupial lion, which has been extinct for thousands of years. This marsupial lion may have spurred the imagination of many Australian locals.

No. Drop bears are mythical marsupials known to originate in Australia. Many people believe that the tale of drop bears has been circulated to keep outsiders from entering communities or to keep children from wandering at night, especially near eucalyptus trees. These mythical creatures are often described to resemble the appearance of koalas. However, drop bears are much bigger in size. Unlike koalas which feed on eucalyptus leaves, drop bears are described to be carnivorous and vicious, attacking humans precisely on their heads by jumping from treetops. The tale of drop bears is also used as a local joke, meant to scare first-time tourists to Australia.
