What I question
Is it true that the Catholic Church ordered the assassination of some Illuminati members? It was a claim made in the movie,??Angels and Demons."

Considering that the Illuminati is a secret society based on the complete antithesis of Christianity and the Roman Catholic Church, I think this story may have some truth to it. The Illuminati is often described as being based on Luciferian ideology, which means that the organization believes in and practices Satanism. In a sense, the battle between the Catholic Church and the Illuminati has gone on for ages. The execution of four Illuminati members is quite a small deed, in comparison to the stories detailed in the Bible of large-scale executions against sinners. So it's definitely viable that the church might do something like this.

I definitely think that the Catholic Church could be involved with such assassinations. Sure, "Angels and Demons" is just a movie, but I think the Roman Catholic Church has its fair share of dirt that they have been tucking away under the carpet. It is questionable Whether or not the Catholic Church assassinated Illuminati scientists because of the secrecy of the Illuminati and the Catholic Church. While assassinations are usually found in political affairs, it's possible that the church may have assassinated some people who were in the way of their ultimate goal of spreading religion or the Catholic belief.

After reading your question, I got really interested and started looking for information regarding "Angels and Demons," the Illuminati, and the Catholic Church. I came across an article written by a well respected sociologist of religion, Massimo Introvigne. Introvigne believes that the Illuminati exists, but he mentions that the Catholic Church did not assassinate any Illuminati scientist, as the movie "Angels and Demons" fictitiously portrays. The characters assassinated in the movie are not based on any historical evidence, real names, or actual characters. Still, it's an interesting topic. It even got me looking for any other assassination that might be linked to the church.

Do you believe everything that you see on television and in the movies? The Catholic Church would never do such a thing. Despite the fact that the Illuminati is supposed to be an anti-Christian group, I highly doubt that the Roman Catholic Church would ever have anyone assassinated. It would be too big of a controversy for the church. Despite the strong influence and control that the church has over its followers, news of such an assassination would not be taken very lightly by the public. "Angels and Demons" is just a movie that was based on a fictitious novel; don't fall for everything you hear, see, or read about it.
