The conflict between the Illuminati and the Catholic Church has been a long-standing one. Since the Illuminati's foundation in 1776, its free-thinking members have strongly opposed the Catholic Church's views on science. Also, the Illuminati members are atheists. According to historians, the existence of the secret society ended in 1795. But conspiracy theorists believe otherwise. For conspiracy theorists, the Illuminati today have infiltrated the Catholic Church, government, and other big corporations. Conspiracy theorists believe that the Illuminati are plotting to create a one-world government. Many books have been written about the conflict between the Illuminati and the Catholic Church, which makes it popular up to this day.

According to history, the Illuminati was formed on May 1, 1776 by Adam Weishaupt. This secret society opposed power from the church and nobility. They are also known as atheists and free-thinkers who strongly believed in scientific advances. On the other hand, the Catholic Church is against radical scientific advances. This is where the group's conflict with the Catholic Church began. It is believed that the Illuminati no longer exists. But according to conspiracy theorists, that is far from the truth. Conspiracy theorists believe that the Illuminati have strong ties with the government and the church. They also believe that the Illuminati are planning on establishing on a New World Order.

As a secret society of free-thinkers, the Illuminati are known to be supporters of science, which is opposed by the Catholic Church. Furthermore, the Illuminati opposed any power that comes from the church. This is where the long-time conflict is based upon. What made matters worse is the idea that the Illuminati is a conspiracy theory, in that it was formed by people in the Catholic Church. Many books have been written about the conflict between the Illuminati and the Catholic Church. And some people believe that up to this day, the group has strong and influential ties within the church and the government.

The word Illuminati means the enlightened ones. In history, this is a secret society founded on May 1, 1776 by Adam Weishaupt. Throughout history, the Illuminati members are free-thinking people. The very long conflict between the Catholic Church and the Illuminati stems from differences between religion and science. The Illuminati members are known to be atheists, and they opposed powers that were exerted by nobility and the church. Considered as free-thinkers, the Illuminati are very much into radical scientific advances, which the Catholic Church opposes. Furthermore, conspiracy theorists have been saying that the true founder of the Illuminati is the Catholic Church itself.
