Does drinking cold water after a meal cause cancer? I believe this statement is a hoax. Our intestine has certain acids and other components that protect it from the stuff we eat. Aside from this, the fluid that enters the body would not be in the same condition than when it is outside. If you drink cold water after eating oily stuff, for instance, the oil won't solidify just like when you put oil in the freezer. So whether you're going to drink a cold or a hot water, it wouldn't actually make any difference. As long as the water is clean and free from toxic chemicals, you would not develop cancer. The notion that drinking cold water after a meal is harmful was probably concocted by adults in order to deter their kids from crying and whining when there's no cold water in the ref.

This statement is definitely untrue. If cold water can solidify oil in the stomach, it goes without saying that cold weather environment would also turn the oil in your stomach into solid materials. If this is the case, then those who live in cold places would have suffered from cancer. Aside from this, there is not enough scientific studies that could back up the claim that consuming cold water after eating causes cancer.

It is known that oily food stuff can cause cancer. And drinking cold water would just increase the possibility of growth of cancer cells in the intestine. The cold water would turn the oil into solid materials. Take for instance when you put the oil in a cold place. The oil would solidify. This also happens to the oil in the stomach once cold water reaches it. The solidified oil would then react to the acids in the stomach.

Yes, drinking cold water after every meal, specially if the meal is composed of oily food stuff, would lead to higher risks of developing cancer. How could this happen? The cold water that enters you intestine would solidify the oil there. This would cause the slowing down of digestion and would also result in the accumulation of solidified oil and fats in your intestine. This would react with the acid in your tummy and would then be absorbed by the intestine. The chemical would line the intestine and would eventually cause the development of cancer cells. This is why people are advised not to drink cold water after eating.
